Here's something relevant, from the 1991 "Gulf War" era.... Remember all the media coverage of "Patriot missiles", and how they supposedly were nowhere near as effective as Raytheon claimed?

Well, I met & spoke at length with a Patriot missile battery commander who actually served in that war. He told how his battery COULD have shot down several Iraqi-launched SCUD missiles, but his chain-of-command refused his request for permission to fire. The wide-area radar & tracking system had determined that the missile would strike harmlessly in the open desert! So why waste an expensive Patriot missile to shoot it down? Plus, as wartime strategy & tactics, the DOD wanted the enemy to think our weapons were LESS effective than reality. Think about this in context of recent strikes against the Iranian nuclear program. Even the best, "official" source might be intentional mis-information. "Not knowing for sure", need not create any cognitive dissonance.

Personally, I'm finding Trump to be the FUNNIEST President we've ever had. All this CHAOS is necessary to break up the log jams of entrenched corruption....

I like your rendition of ‘the week that was’. Actually, pleasantly to-the-point. Thank you. 😊
