Bright Brief - Commie Chameleon
Donald Trump Is Using the Weapons of the Enemy Against Them
(Author’s Note: FINE! I heard you!
The Brief is back … I guess.
Jeez. Relax.
I do plan to reward my long-time and future paid subscribers with more original content in the months ahead, which I want the Bright Army to weigh in on soon, but all Burning Bright writing was free, is free and will continue to be free. And as you can see, there’s going to be more of it than usual going forward, as long as I can both find and justify the time.
Either way, if you like the more consistent output around these parts, consider supporting this work using one of the methods at the bottom of this piece.)
On February 3, 2025, Donald Trump signed the Executive Order directing the Secretaries of Treasury and Commerce to deliver a plan for a United States Sovereign Wealth Fund within 90 days.
The stated purpose was straightforward: maximize the stewardship of national wealth for the sole benefit of American citizens.
Fiscal sustainability. Lower burdens on families and small businesses. Economic security for generations yet unborn. Strategic leadership on the world stage.
When he signed it, Trump did what he always does when the signal matters:
He name-dropped the model. The template.
The Saudi Public Investment Fund was on the large side, he said, but we would catch it. We were going to create a lot of wealth for the fund.
In the weeks that followed the 2024 election, the NGO-industrial complex did what it always does when a sovereign threat appears.
Human Rights Watch dropped a lengthy, signal-saturated report titled ‘The Man Who Bought The World,’ meticulously linking the rise of the Saudi Public Investment Fund to its 2017 anti-corruption purge, to rights abuses, to the consolidation of power under Mohammed bin Salman.
The timing was not accidental.
The fund that had been built on the back of that purge—the very mechanism that allowed the Kingdom to rehypothecate captured wealth into national strategic assets—was being pre-emptively poisoned in the Western mind before Trump could openly adapt its logic.
I wrote about it then, in the days after the EO dropped because the signal was unmistakable.
What looked on the surface like another government redistribution scheme carried all the hallmarks of the rehypothecation of their assets back to the people they were originally stolen from.
That is us. The people, not just in this land, but in all lands.
The Saudi template was not being studied for its optic, then, in my estimation, but rather for its mechanics: consolidate first, then deploy the sovereign stake.
That is the thread Trump has been pulling since the moment he took the oath the second time.
The media now screams hypocrisy because they see public equity stakes in Intel, in MP Materials, in critical minerals projects, in discussions around OpenAI and defense contractors, and they cannot square it with Trump’s anti-communist rhetoric.
They call it central planning. They call it socialism. They call it Trump running a series of public-private partnerships that fly in the face of free-market principles.
And while they are half right on the mechanism, they are entirely wrong on the meaning.
The core promise of the Sovereign Wealth Fund was never to expand the administrative state, but to give the sovereign—first the President as elected steward, ultimately the people—a direct, return-generating interest in the critical nodes of the economy that had been allowed to drift into adversarial or oligarchic hands.
Converting CHIPS Act grants into equity rather than sinkhole subsidies.
Taking a roughly 10 percent non-voting stake in the only American company still capable of advanced chip manufacturing on US soil.
Becoming the largest shareholder in the only scaled rare-earth producer in the country through Defense Production Act authorities, complete with offtake agreements that lock in domestic supply for defense and AI.
This process represents the quiet construction of a de facto sovereign wealth vehicle using every existing legal authority while the formal legislation lags, and by enemy design.
The Senate’s National Defense Authorization Act now carries language establishing a Department of Defense Equity Investment Account precisely for this purpose—equity in critical minerals, materials, chemicals and batteries—with caps and governance guardrails designed to align incentives rather than subsidize failure.
The pieces are not being assembled to create a Sovereign Wealth Fund from nothing, but to codify the one that is already operating in everything but name.
This is the Saudi mirror, executed with American gusto.
To wit, in 2017, Mohammed bin Salman did not nationalize the Kingdom’s wealth out of socialist theory.
He purged the networks—princes, businessmen, fixers—whose control of capital had turned the state into a feeding trough for interests that did not answer to the sovereign.
Only after that consolidation did the Public Investment Fund become the instrument of national strategy rather than personal extraction.
Trump is not copying the personalities, but the sequence.
The critical industries that once served as pillars of the Deep State control apparatus—semiconductors whose subsidies produced no security guarantees, rare earth processing that remained dependent on Chinese dominance, advanced manufacturing nodes more responsive to globalist capital flows than to national survival—are now being brought under sovereign alignment through legal equity positions and the crowding-in of private capital that suddenly sees a partner with skin in the game and a national interest to protect.
The other two branches have produced expected roadblocks, to those of us who’ve continued to recognize who they truly are.
The legislative branch, still thick with institutionalists who prefer the old equilibrium of grants without governance and subsidies without returns has moved slowly on a clean statutory framework.
The judicial branch has its own institutional reflexes that seem to impede Trump’s agenda rather than accelerating it.
Both have raised the obvious question: whose side are they on when the sovereign attempts to reclaim the means of national power from the networks that captured them?
The answer is being written not in courtrooms or committee markups, but in the equity positions already taken and the supply chains already being reshored.
None of this contradicts Trump’s public anti-communism.
It fulfills it.
The communists and their useful ideologues in the DSA want public ownership as a step toward the abolition of the very sovereignty they despise.
Trump wants sovereign stakes as a step toward the restoration of the sovereignty they would dissolve.
One side sees the state as the permanent owner.
The other sees the state as the temporary custodian of the people’s interest until genuine competitive markets can be restored on a foundation that is no longer hollowed out.
The media’s attempt to collapse the distinction into ‘Trump is now a socialist’ is not analysis, but is rather representative of narrative warfare against the one mechanism that threatens both the old oligarchy and the new collectivist insurgency at once.
That is also why this approach carries the potential to bridge a divide that has long been treated as unbridgeable.
The populist left has spent decades watching corporate capture, offshoring and regulatory moats transfer wealth upward while the national industrial base atrophied.
When they see the government take a direct equity interest in the domestic production of chips and magnets, with returns flowing back to the Treasury instead of disappearing into connected contractors, a portion of that coalition recognizes the material outcome even if they reject the framing.
I know this because I used to be one of them.
The populist right has spent the same decades watching the ‘free market’ label used to justify the very transfers that weakened the nation.
When they see supply chains secured, critical minerals decoupled from adversarial control, and a sovereign mechanism generating returns rather than endless deficits, the projected outcome aligns with the America First mandate they delivered to Donald Trump.
Ultimately, both sides are being forced into the same recognition: the labels were never the point.
The control of the nodes was.
In other words, Trump is not asking either coalition to surrender its convictions. He is giving both a tangible stake in the Golden Age that neither pure redistribution nor pure laissez-faire ever delivered, and that the System closed ranks to prevent.
The truth is, we have never truly enjoyed free markets in this republic.
What we enjoyed was a managed simulation layered over the productive capacity of the nation by interests that treated sovereignty as an obstacle and the citizen as a cost center.
Regulatory capture, globalist trade architecture, financialization that rewarded extraction over creation, subsidies without strings attached to national interest—these were the features of the false market, not bugs.
The administrative state and its allied networks did not defend a free enterprise.
They defended their position atop the false one.
Before we can have markets worthy of the name—competitive, innovative, nationally loyal and genuinely free—we have to take control of the overlay. We have to reassert the sovereign stake in the sectors that determine whether a nation remains a nation or becomes a jurisdiction for whoever bids highest.
We have to do it with every legal and logical instrument available, regardless of the labels the captured institutions attach to them in the interim.
The Sovereign Wealth Fund was never the destination, but the codification of the work already underway.
The EO of February 2025 did not invent the path. It named it.
In other words, the stakes being taken in Intel, in MP Materials, in the broader critical minerals complex are not deviations from the Golden Path. They are the first bricks being laid in daylight while the architects of the old order still pretend the foundation does not exist.
The future we should have had is not being gifted to us, but reclaimed by us, stake by stake, node by node, with the same ruthless clarity that built every other sovereign wealth vehicle worth emulating.
And the System knows this, which is why it is so very upset by the sort of capitalist-communist convergence (at least in outward appearance) it should champion.
Power is power.
The people lent it. The System took it.
Now, Donald Trump is demonstrating in real time that it can be taken back.
Our job once that heavy lifting is done is to demonstrate that we can keep it.
Until next time, stay Positive, stay Based and most importantly … stay Bright.

At the VERY beginning of Trump’s second (public) term, I highlighted Trump’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Executive Order as a prime signal as to the tenor the administration was going to adopt, and what lay at the end of its path.
And I did so by examining the same template the Globalist Protectorate fears Trump is following.

Another look forward into the Golden Age, just what I am looking for.
There is such a need to remove everything that the DS Rat Bastards have gotten their hands one and it really touches everything in society. The biggest piece is through the Fiat system and what has been stolen from us, including wealth along with time.
There is so much that must be fixed and I am ready to get that party started. While I am always impatient I am delighted by the progress made since Trump came down the Golden Escalator.
Hoping (and praying) that tonight starts a big move forward.
God Wins!
God Bless!!!
Makes sense to me. Carry on! I’m listening!
