So I am in my 70s, old enough to recall the very early days of media, not to mention, TV's coverage of national and world news on the networks, with 'real journalists' and an appearance anyway of a high degree of integrity around the information being presented. (Now of course, we know that that too was always dubious, but nevertheless, it was a very different time, era, etc) At the very least, ALL networks covered Presidential news simultaneously, without question, consistently. So when they now routinely refuse to air Presidential speechs, or cut & paste to their wim, while so blatantly slanting any and all stories toward the object of the narrative desire of the paying few behind the screens, I know in every fiber of my being, something untoward, some intentional shenanigans, some controlled opposition, some form of suppression is well underway, and I wonder, of course, what's being hidden, denied, ridiculed and distracted from. It IS just so obvious! So thanks, as always, for your keen insightful commentary and excellent articulation of what you see. Grateful for a framing that matches my gut and intuition.
“a First Amendment crisis” is a criticism that I welcome, because it will lead us to the most important question of why anyone thinks licensing of the airwaves is not in conflict with that far more fundamental principal, in any way whatsoever. It’s just another control mechanism of the matrix and needs to be examined under the brightest lights and the most intensely powerful microscopes.
In fact, the very concept of licensing at all falls into the same conversation and should be done away with. NO ONE should have the power to regulate anyone else’s speech, especially ANY form of authority/government that has guns behind it.
Just take the networks off the air and let them go to market using the internet like everyone else (including them) now does. Then they can say whatever they want.
The airwaves are far more valuable for other purposes than point-to-many broadcasting. Time was, back in the middle of the 20th century, that was not true. But it is today.
It would be an “improvement”, while at the same time just bypassing the actuals via moving them to a different form of suppressing free speech because the Internet itself is regulated and throttled by a five member board of presidentially appointed individuals that will change with each administration
It is much easier to get around internet rules, which in the first place are much more open. A rogue ('pirate') radio/TV transmitter is easily located and taken off the air; the FCC does this routinely.
But you can find pretty much whatever you want on the internet, and this has been true over several changes of administration now. It will only become more so as we move forward.
Yes, and they always will; but it is becoming more and more difficult to do so. With a broadcast tower, FCC can declare a station 'not serving the public interest' (that is the requirement of a broadcast license, and there are a bunch of details appurtenant thereto) and pull the plug.
Shutting down something on the internet is like a game of whack-a-mole. Too many available access points, methods to obfuscate the actual origin, etc.
This is a very insightful and encouraging article. You continue to add meat to the bone of this Phase Shift. I am not sure where your inspiration and insight come from (God certainly, ultimately) but you see and write about things that hide in the cracks yet you seem to see clearly!
Anyway, keep up the great work, hopefully it will help speed along the Justice we all need to see.
