My husband told me long ago that culture is a pendulum. The people are mainly in the middle but the powers push past the boundaries. When they push too far we resist and the pendulum swings back. If they have pushed too far, the pendulum swings far to the other side but eventually comes back to the middle. This made sense 30 years ago and even more so now. The powers never stop pushing. It is our resistance, or lack thereof, that determines our path. Our awakening has strengthened our resistance to the pendulum. Many epiphanies have occurred along the way. Doubtless, many more will come. Epiphany falls every year on January 6. Did the master storyteller choose this date for a reason? Regardless of the results of the Brunson case or the 2021 protests, epiphanies are occurring as the sheer weight of lies begin to crumble their narrative. The truth shall set us free.

As always, BB, I read every word of your article with great interest, however my thinking may be outside this box. There is no Overton window in my mind. What has been wrong in the past will always be evil, and God sent us the 10 Commandments to emphasize this - and maybe that's the ultimate in narratives, as you call them. The fact that societies construct these windows to justify their actions, proclivities and wicked obsessions, and attempt to normalize them in pursuit of more earthly pleasure and excitement, to escape the truth of their ultimate damnation, doesn't account for much on this so-called "stage." For the real consequences of depravity are experienced in the here and now, as well as for eternity. So many never learn this.

Burning Bright: you continue to prove to me my decision to choose you as my first paid subscription was right! As all of your readers know, you have been teaching us the tools to do our role in this war without the angst so many feel on a daily basis and we will perform our individual service better because of your instruction. Knowing now the individual is actually in control is such a positive point! Teaching us is one of the best ways to help us and I am still so thankful for your willingness to do so! Plus, our reading skills continue to improve and I can now read through your articles without having to reread as many sentences and comprehending them better. Your focus today reminds me of a kaleidoscope as we observe the windows used on both sides of this war and how quickly the views change. I have come to agree with you completely about the purpose of the narratives throughout mankind’s history. The battle between good and evil has always been for man’s soul. Excellent thought-provoking analysis is what we’ve come to expect from your articles and I suspect the vast majority of your readers wait with the next article with anticipation as I do! Thank you! Very nice piece Bright . The battle for the mind requires deception which is a very dynamic component of hybrid warfare . There are "good actors" and there are "bad actors". Unfortunately we , unlike the actors , aren't privy to the entire script . Perhaps we will never know , come curtain call , who played their role and who didn't .Question everything , use critical thinking , be careful who you follow and don't forget the popcorn . Thank you "Carizzer"

I don't believe that the actors are all privy to the script. In many cases (Brandon for one) the actors only have a cue and a line or two. They know less than the more discerning of us do.

Those are the useful idiots, and they are many in this 5GW.

Nonetheless your advice is spot on.

Privy as to the script they are handed be it great or small , many lines or two lines . Greater roles and lesser roles . The actors are just a part of the Kabuki Theater we are watching . It is the writers and directors that have the " entire " script . As for " Brandon " perhaps his script calls for a bumbling know nothing character role . We may or may not find out until the final curtain call . As for the " useful idiots " maybe it's a useful idiot role . Reminds me of the film " Being There " starring the late great Peter Sellers . Perception can be tricky . Hard to say . Love the dialogue my Fren . It's apparent you stay on top of things in this 5GW . Look forward to hearing from you again Wild Bill . Interesting comment, Feather. I spent most of my career defining new tech products, which I liken to trying to draw a floorplan for a house when all you can do is look into the windows from outside, often from a distance to avoid being seen. Each window gives you a different perspective: competitive product offerings, customer requests, new technologies, market evolution... but none give you a clear view of the whole. And there are parts, sometimes important ones, that you can't see at all from such a vantage point. And some observations are based on yesterday's reality, not the future.

"Or perhaps a series of stages—of windows—that seek alternatively to reveal and to obfuscate, depending on the hands, the minds and the characters that guide them." -- BB's post today

Somehow, one must pull all of that together and define something that must be new and relevant when it is introduced, else it will fail in the market. Understanding the 5GW is like this too, which is why so many are frustrated -- why can't it just happen the way it's supposed to??

One day everything will be revealed to us in its full glory, and what a day that will be.

BB, I wanted to take some time to think about this before replying. This comment is buried so deep in a waning thread that few others will see it, so I'm writing primarily to you -- though anyone who manages to find it, and find it interesting, is welcome too 😉

What I have come to realize is that there is an important scientific theory we have not yet discussed when talking about information warfare, which is Information Theory. It was initially crystallized in AT&T engineer Claude Shannon's seminal 1948 paper ‘A mathematical theory of communication.’ A decent intro (with references) can be found here:

https://towardsdatascience.com/information-theory-a-short-introduction-a37f09959a1e

Both product definition and warfare (as with much of humanity's activities) are critically dependent on information. All manner of mechanisms both natural and man-made degrade information quality. Shannon's work was important because it provided a mathematical (and therefore exact) way to describe information, ironically by first postulating that meaning does not matter, all that matters is accurate communications between a sender and receiver. In other words, whatever you say may have meaning to you (and your correspondent) as a result of a common understanding you share; but design of the information system itself needs only assure that whatever you say is faithfully communicated to your correspondent.

A full discussion of this with regard to war or game theory, where there may be multiple parties each trying to communicate and disrupt the communications of their opponent(s), can become very complex but because of Shannon's observation, it can be reduced to a series of relatively simpler issues, each of which can be analyzed individually.

'Disruption' includes myriad possibilities; some of the more obvious are denial (jamming), eavesdropping, modification or pretense (spoofing), and delay. Further, innocent and natural mechanisms also potentially cause disruption -- broadband noise (Shannon's original interest), impulse noise, unintended interference, etc.

This leads to a potential rabbit warren of possibilities, but simple thought experiments reveal that in any actual situation, there are a few of them that are more concerning than others, and upon which actors should concentrate their limited efforts to maximize the likelihood of winning. Simple example: which is more damaging -- an adversary jamming a communication intending to target an attack (in which case the attack does not happen); or spoofing the targeting message (in which case the attack comes back on the attacker)?

Based on a series of such experiments, decisions can be made regarding allocation of resources to potential threats based on their perceived potential consequences.

Some of this strays into what is today considered 'cryptography' rather than Information Theory, but I would argue that Shannon's seminal observation is what has made modern cryptography possible. There were, of course, codes and ciphers before Shannon wrote his paper, just as there was lightning before Maxwell wrote his equations; but rigorous understanding of the subject is only possible once a set of rules is codified, and Shannon provided the underlying language that allows this to happen.

Somehow I have a feeling you will find a way to dig into this and apply it to your work on Information Warfare and the 5GW. I hope at least you find it interesting. Let me know if there's anything else I can contribute in this area.

Very interesting stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if this sort of coding is being applied by both sides. That said, I tend to be interested in the Macro of Narrative Deployments rather than their specific mechanisms, though I will look into it. Thank you.

Expand full comment

Thank you for sharing your thought-provoking observations.

Maybe the narrative deployments are a bit like brushstrokes on a canvas: once applied, the artist steps back, assesses the effect, and adjusts where necessary—always mindful of how the final picture should look. From a narrative (storytelling) perspective, each event that impacts our collective mindset will contribute to the full picture that’s being co-created with us, the audience. Our responses help guide the narrative artists to their next brushstrokes. They have a final picture in mind, and we have to help it take form.

In fact, how we help this final version of the story get written is of great importance: the narrative we create right now, the story we are writing, will become a tool to help protect our future generations. They will hear about the American patriots who rose up to fight against tyranny during this Second American Revolution, and they will identify that freedom-loving spirit within themselves. In this way, our efforts will not only defeat our current enemies, but will arm our descendants against future propaganda warfare as well.

The world isn’t being done to us; it is being done by us. That is the Great Awakening.

After clever distractions for decades, we are now learning that hidden in those outer distractions and beneath our captured attentions, we fell “victim” to a diabolical plan to twist our concept of freedom and personal responsibility right out of our grasp. We are waking up and we do not choose to be victims….in no small measure thanks to Trump and The Plan, we yet get to choose our destiny!

“We are a culture largely built on the cult of personality”. Your’s is a mind of great wisdom, BB!

Freedom is at the heart of our spiritual journey, a journey which ultimately is what the world is for.

Question is- Is this the “GREAT AWAKENING” or ANOTHER awakening?

Expand full comment

Not sure what you mean, Wings. How I see it is that The Great Awakening refers to the collective consciousness of humanity waking up to and then throwing off the yoke of the Khazarian mafia, the diabolical global elites plan to control the planet. I would say it is the greatest shift of consciousness ever to occur on the planet. (Which isn’t to negate or equate to the shift that happened when the Resurrection of Jesus Christ happened).

What is happening now is a collective great awakening that lifts us all and restores individual freedom; human creativity (long suppressed/controlled by corporate elites)…we are on an awakening path that could be described as the difference between Einstein and Nikola Tesla!!

Or the difference between war and peace.

Still and yet…each individual follows an inner path of awakening to spiritual truths, the difference between the self-made ego and the God-created mind awareness.

The Great Awakening enhances opportunity for the ‘other Awakening’ because the vibrational frequency of the planet, the collective consciousness is rising. It may not manifest fully in my lifetime but in my mind/heart’s eye it is a wonder to behold

Dec 30, 2022·edited Dec 30, 2022

So my question infers that what is happening "now" could be "A" GreatAwakening, not necessarily "THE" Great Awakening. I believe that human history is replete with "Great Awakenings". An endless cycle of mankind forgetting, or not knowing, who they really are and/or becoming complacent in a material mindset. When that happens it gives rise to the opportunity for letting evil (mortal thinking) to establish a foothold and grow within a given societal timeframe. Which then grows to a global infestation of a false reality which throws us into a state we are experiencing now. A "collective consciousness of humanity" as you put it extends backwards about two generations of any given person. ie: Since WW2, or there about, there has been a steady and slow devolution of our morals, spirituality and divine principles that are the foundation of peaceful, aware, prosperous and progressive (a high-jacked term) society. And then we repeatably continue to pay the price. We "awaken" to what is real and what is not and reset ourselves. I believe "the plan" of the evil globalists was waiting for my generation - post WW2 Baby Boomers - to die off leaving only the weak minds and spiritually disconnected generations that by comparison had very few hardships and were indoctrinated with woke ideologies by our infiltrated education system. Trump interrupted that and made them accelerate their plan at "warp speed". And there were too many awake people left to know what is real and unreal. SO this Awakening is again a Great RESET of our understanding and awareness of who we ALL truly are; Spiritual ideas and children of God. ALL it takes to correct the current state of affairs is to turn off and not accept what we know to be lies and unreal. But that takes courage BY THE PEOPLE. We are about a generation away from that.

Expand full comment

You make some very excellent points here, and I don’t disagree with your thinking…yet…I believe we, as the collective consciousness of humanity, are on the beginning edge of a transition to an age not known for some 25,000 years on the planet - and we are different now than we were then. We are shifting into The Age of Aquarius; an age of Knowledge, Transparency, Truth. The Age of Aquarius was a fairly popular song in the 70s…a foreshadowing as it was a bit ahead of it’s time, planting a thought.

The paradigm shift isn’t happening in a circle this time, but a spiral.

Coming back with an edit…the generation of the baby boomers are still here with an important part to play;)

Expand full comment

Very good! In my experience and knowledge of history "We are shifting into The Age of Aquarius; an age of Knowledge, Transparency, Truth." . . . . happens when there are QUANTUM leaps, which societies has problems "adjusting to" going back over millenia. Recently the industrial revolution has spawned a few wars. But as you say it is now about awareness and knowledge. That is correct - spawned by technology that puts both information and propaganda in the palms of people's hands to either enrich them or exploit them. The latter is happening now. Why do you think during the 8 years of Obama they were handing out cell phones (Obama phones) for FREE to "marginalized communities". It made the woke "feel" better and gave the elite the weapon they so desperately needed to exploit hate and control the minds and consciousness of society. Hopefully this time we can put safeguards in place so it doesn't repeat . . . so soon. :)

Expand full comment

Well said, Wings!

Your comment reminds me of the huge shift that happened when the printing press was invented - and it was huge. The cell phone ease of access to information is in that category. The global scum underestimated the value of such access…the very tool they used to control is the very tool that will avail any generation the access out of the Matrix.

This has been a good conversation : ) Thank You

The last 4 paragraphs were particularly brilliant. You have described a template of the ancient war for our minds. The current struggles are but a phase in this war. The ancient war will rage on, no matter who "wins" the current struggles.

It can be difficult to engage in this war as it is almost impossible to be emotionally untouched by the promoted narratives. However, emotional involvement is perhaps a requirement, so you can know what others may be experiencing. Regardless of the emotions, one can continue to fight back and resist, thought by thought, mentally dismantling the offensive narratives. Then word by word which contradicts the offending narratives. Action follows.
