Your efforts to lift us above the filth of the System of Systems and to perceive the events unfolding today as we would a great Sci Fi novel are successful with me. You make it easy to see each MSM narrative deployment as another chapter in the fictional world view the beast has spun around us. In every case, if we stand up out of the fear and the muck, we find that it was just another fear invoking fiction.

Another excellent piece, BB! As I was reading it, I kept thinking of the first Rocky movie where all of Rocky’s closest friends think he is insane for taking a fight with the mighty and wholly unbeatable Apollo Creed. They plead with him not to face him. Of course Rocky is scared and full of doubt, as he should be. He has every right to fear Apollo. After all, he is a nobody, and Creed is the champion of the world. His trainer, Mickey, recognizes this fear, and teaches Rocky to embrace it, to to use that fear as motivation to train harder, to be mentally tougher, to endure whatever Creed can throw at him. In the middle of the fight, after Rocky has been beaten and bloodied by Apollo, Rocky grins through his blood-soaked mouthpiece, and gestures to Creed, “c’mon....c’mon”. He has taken every blow Apollo has thrown at him, and instead of being defeated, Rocky asks for more, showing Apollo that fear is powerless against him.
This is how I see us Digital Soldiers. We have stood in the face of fear, and taken every blow the DS has thrown at us. And we are still standing. For every haymaker they throw, we stand, grinning at them through our bloodied mouthpieces, saying, “c’mon, c’mon...is that all you’ve got?” And much like Rocky, by standing up to a seemingly superior foe, we will inspire countless others to follow our lead, and not only not be defeated by the fear the DS projects onto us, but to USE that fear to turn it around on them, and ultimately win this War. Remember, Rocky didn’t win that first fight with Apollo Creed....but by showing an intense resolve and bravery in the face of the fear he most certainly had, Rocky got inside Apollos’s head, all-but ensuring victory in the rematch. So too shall we ultimately win this War!
